1. General Information Only

All content on the Site — including guides, troubleshooting steps, menu paths, infographics and recommendations — is provided in good faith and for general use. While we make reasonable efforts to keep the information accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of any content on the Site. Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk.

2. Device Instructions — Follow at Your Own Risk

This is the most important section on this page.

2.1 Our guides describe changes to settings on consumer devices. Android is not one product: menu names, settings locations and behaviour differ between Android versions, manufacturers (Google, Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Motorola and others), carrier builds and regions. A path that is correct on one phone may not exist on another.

2.2 Back up before you change anything. Some steps described on the Site are irreversible or carry a real risk of data loss, including but not limited to: factory resets, clearing app storage, wiping cache partitions, removing or deleting accounts, and resetting network or app preferences. Where we are aware of such a risk we try to flag it clearly in the article, but you are responsible for backing up your data first.

2.3 Some actions cannot be undone. Certain device operations permanently alter hardware or security state. For example, unlocking a bootloader or flashing firmware typically erases the device, and on Samsung devices may permanently trip the Knox security fuse — after which features such as Secure Folder and Samsung Wallet stop working and cannot be restored by any means, including reflashing the original firmware.

2.4 Warranty and carrier agreements. Certain actions may void your manufacturer warranty or breach your carrier agreement. You are solely responsible for determining whether an action is appropriate for your device, your warranty status and your circumstances.

2.5 Two-factor authentication and account lockout. Wiping or resetting a device without first exporting authenticator app data can permanently lock you out of accounts protected by two-factor authentication. Similarly, factory resetting a device without removing the associated Google or Samsung account first can leave the device locked and unusable. Please read the full guide before beginning, not partway through.

2.6 We are not responsible for any damage to a device, loss of data, loss of account access, loss of warranty coverage or other loss arising from following any instruction on the Site.

3. Content Currency

Device software changes constantly, and manufacturers move and rename settings between releases. Every article on the Site displays the date it was last updated, and you should treat that date as a meaningful indicator. If a step does not match what you see on your device, the software has likely changed — please tell us so we can correct it.

4. Not Professional Advice

Nothing on the Site constitutes professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to legal, financial, security, medical or educational advice. Our privacy and security guides describe general settings and practices; they are not a security assessment of your particular situation and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Always seek the guidance of an appropriately qualified professional with any questions you may have.

5. No Affiliation With Manufacturers

UpFour is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Google LLC, Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Microsoft Corporation, or any other device manufacturer, carrier or software vendor. Android and Google are trademarks of Google LLC. Samsung, Galaxy, Bixby and One UI are trademarks of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. All other product names, logos and brands are the property of their respective owners, and are used for identification and descriptive purposes only.

Where we cite official documentation, we link directly to the source so you can verify it yourself. Those sources are the authoritative reference; where our guide and the manufacturer's documentation disagree, follow the manufacturer.

6. External Links and Downloads

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including official documentation and support pages. We provide these links for convenience and verification only. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, accuracy, legality or practices of any third-party site or service. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement. Accessing third-party sites is done at your own risk.

We do not host or distribute device firmware, APK files or software downloads of any kind, and we recommend against installing software from unofficial sources.

7. Advertising Disclosure

The Site is supported by advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Ads and any sponsored content are visually distinct from our editorial content. Advertisers have no influence over what we publish or how we assess any product or service. We do not control, endorse or take responsibility for the products, services or claims made in third-party advertisements displayed on the Site. Any dealings you have with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies and data are handled.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, UpFour and its owners, operators and contributors shall not be liable for any loss or damage — including without limitation indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive loss or damage, and including damage to devices, loss of data, or loss of account access — arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to use the Site or any content, links or advertisements on it. The Site and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind.

9. Errors and Omissions

Although we strive for accuracy, the Site may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions, including in menu paths, settings names, device specifications and dates. We reserve the right to correct errors and to change or update content at any time without prior notice. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

When a reader reports an error we correct the article and update its date, rather than editing silently — see our About page for how we work.

10. Fair Use Notice

The Site may reference or quote copyrighted material in a limited way for purposes such as commentary, criticism, scholarship, research and education. We believe such use constitutes "fair use" under 17 U.S.C. § 107 of United States copyright law. If you are a rights holder and believe any such use exceeds fair use, please contact us at hello@upfour.online or see our DMCA & Copyright Policy.

11. Changes to This Disclaimer

We may update this Disclaimer from time to time to reflect changes to the Site or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will post the revised Disclaimer on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
